At 38.5 by 29 cm and 4.5 cm deep it is cut to carry papers flat, in a single compartment lined in black. It takes a 13-inch MacBook Air or a 14-inch MacBook Pro.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe handle is the detail that sets it apart from an ordinary portfolio. Rather than a strap or a fixed grip, it is a rigid U-shape covered in the same leather and pinned to the body with brass rivets. Raised, it stands 5 cm above the case. Lowered, it sinks into a recess cut into the top band, and the case lies flat as a folio. Three embossed lines run along that band on both faces.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe zip is Swiss-made, its brass pull stamped SWISS beneath a script maker's mark, and it runs the width of the top between chromed end-stops. A green leather wrist strap is riveted and stitched at the pull end. Everything works as it should: the zip runs its full length and the handle folds and lifts cleanly.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe leather is supple and even in colour. There are a few light marks to the front, a small scuff to one handle and light creasing along the top band, with no tears or repairs, and the foil crown is crisp.
