Gold-Plated Watch, Seventeen Jewels and Incabloc, c.1945
"Lincoln" was a trade name applied to Swiss-made movements in the mid-twentieth century - a common and honest practice among importers who wanted a branded product without manufacturing their own calibres. What matters is what is underneath: a 17-jewel Swiss movement fitted with Incabloc shock protection, housed in a gold-plated brass open-face case measuring 42mm across.
The white dial is in excellent condition - clean, unchipped, with crisp Arabic numerals and a functioning sub-seconds register at 6 o'clock. "Swiss Made" is printed at the base, confirming the movement's provenance. The case back shows light surface scratches consistent with age and honest use, but the gold plating remains intact on the exterior.
It winds smoothly, sets correctly, and runs. An attractive, functional vintage piece at a fair price - ideal as an everyday carry or a gift for someone new to pocket watches. Dated to c.1938-1955 based on the Incabloc shock system, patented 1933 and widespread from the late 1930s onward.
