A rare survivor from interwar German watchmaking - a JOTA-branded open-face pocket watch with Junghans movement, distributed through the ZentRa cooperative before 1939. Clean white enamel dial, striking Art Deco guilloche caseback.

This open-face pocket watch carries the JOTA brand on its white enamel dial - a retail identity used by the ZentRa cooperative, Germany's largest watch distribution network of the interwar years. Inside sits a Junghans hand-wound movement, calibre 38a/I - Junghans being Germany's largest watchmaker, based in Schramberg in the Black Forest.

A key detail for the collector: ZentRa officially discontinued the practice of showing both manufacturer and distributor names on the same dial after a Reichstag decision in 1939, documented in the Deutsche Uhrmacher-Zeitung (No.31, p.451). This places manufacture firmly within the period 1927-1939.

The caseback is the visual highlight - a geometric Art Deco pattern of engine-turned lines with a central cartouche, typical of quality German case production of the era. The white enamel dial is clean, with original copper-toned hands and a 24-hour outer chapter ring.

The crown setting mechanism shows wear and would benefit from a service, priced accordingly. A presentable, historically documented piece with a story most buyers won't find elsewhere.
