Geneva Médaille d'Or and the 1906 Milan Award, c.1910
The Roskopf Patent was Georges Frederic Roskopf's 1867 design for an affordable, robust working man's watch. This example, made in Geneva in the years following the 1906 Milan International Exhibition, carries the credentials of an award-winning maker: the inner case back is engraved with Medaille d'Or (Geneva) and Diplome d'Honneur (Milan 1906), surrounded by a ring of prize medallion engravings that document a competitive record across European exhibitions.
The white enamel dial is clean and unmarked, with bold Arabic numerals, a distinctive red 24-hour outer ring, and a sub-seconds register at 6 o'clock. The gilt hands are ornate and intact. The movement - a classic Roskopf pin-lever in gilded brass - winds smoothly and runs well. The push-button crown mechanism is fully functional.
Nickel silver open-face case with embossed Roskopf star medallion to the outer case back. Light surface wear consistent with age. No box or papers. An honest piece with a genuine story.
