Gold-Filled Full Hunter, White Enamel Dial, c.1900
An anonymous Swiss full hunter pocket watch from around the turn of the twentieth century, housed in a quality gold-filled case - stamped GARANTI 10 ANS, with a 25-micron gold layer - carrying the hallmarks of a serious export piece made to last. The inner cuvette is decorated with a beautiful engine-turned guilloche pattern, a detail usually reserved for better-grade watches.
The white enamel dial presents Arabic numerals with a sub-seconds register at six o'clock and a pair of slender gilt hands. There are hairline cracks in the enamel consistent with the watch's age - honest patina rather than damage. The case exterior carries light surface scratches and polishes well.
Inside, a gilt 3/4 plate lever movement with a decorative balance cock. Winds smoothly, sets cleanly, and runs with good accuracy.
