A slope-fronted walnut-stained watch stand with a round green velvet-padded well and wooden retaining tab.
A slope-fronted pocket watch stand in walnut-stained wood, on a moulded plinth. The sloping front board is cut with a round well padded with green velvet and notched at the top for the pendant, with a wooden tab to retain the watch. A plain, functional bedside piece.
The pocket watch shown in the photographs is for scale and is not included.
Wood
Good. Light wear and small nicks to the stained finish; a chip at the front left corner of the plinth shows pale wood beneath the stain.
Front board
Good. A thin split along the lower edge at the right-hand end, with a lifted sliver.
Velvet
Fair. The pile is rubbed down to the weave across the pad, the edge is frayed and lifting around the rim, and there are two small marks in the pad.
