Our Approach
The Estate Collection specialises in antique, vintage, and collectible objects that have lived rich and varied lives before reaching our collection.
Many of the pieces we offer are decades or even centuries old. As a result, signs of age, wear, restoration, repairs, alterations, and historical use should be expected and appreciated as part of their character.
We believe transparency is essential and endeavour to present each item as accurately as possible through descriptions, photographs, and supplementary information.
Authenticity
We make every reasonable effort to research, inspect, and assess the authenticity of all items offered.
Descriptions are based on our knowledge, experience, available documentation, and information provided by previous owners, estates, specialists, or other sources where relevant.
Where certificates, provenance records, receipts, or supporting documentation accompany an item, this will be disclosed in the item description or provided upon request.
Unless expressly stated, the absence of documentation should not be interpreted as evidence against authenticity.
Vintage Watches
Vintage watches often contain components that have been serviced, repaired, or replaced during their lifetime.
Such interventions may include:
- Replacement crystals
- Crowns
- Straps or bracelets
- Hands
- Dials
- Internal mechanical components
Where known, significant replacements or modifications will be disclosed.
However, due to the age of many vintage timepieces, it may not always be possible to determine the complete service or ownership history of a watch.
Condition
Condition assessments are provided in good faith and reflect our opinion at the time of listing.
Reasonable signs of age may include:
- Surface wear
- Patina
- Minor scratches
- Fading
- Tarnishing
- Historical repairs
- Age-related imperfections
Such characteristics are often consistent with authenticity and long-term preservation.
We encourage prospective buyers to carefully review all photographs and request additional information where required.
Measurements and Photography
Measurements are provided as accurately as possible but should be regarded as approximate.
Photographs form an important part of the description and are intended to represent the item fairly. Variations in screen settings, lighting conditions, and device displays may affect the appearance of colours and finishes.
Provenance
Where provenance information is known, we endeavour to provide it.
Provenance may include:
- Estate history
- Previous ownership
- Collection history
- Acquisition records
- Supporting documentation
Unless specifically stated, provenance information is provided without warranty and reflects information available at the time of listing.
Future Performance and Value
The Estate Collection does not guarantee future market value, appreciation, investment performance, collectability, or resale potential.
Any comments regarding rarity, historical significance, desirability, or market trends should be regarded as opinion rather than financial advice.
Questions
We welcome enquiries and are happy to provide additional photographs, information, or condition details wherever possible.
Prospective buyers are encouraged to seek clarification before proceeding with a purchase.
