A signed Cyma Chronometre with the sought-after Calibre 971, a red 24-hour chapter ring, and an Art Deco engine-turned case.

The Cyma Chronometre sat at the upper end of Cyma's production, built to a higher accuracy standard than the era's standard timepiece. It uses the Calibre 971: a 15-jewel movement with gold-set ruby bearings, a signed bridge plate, and Cyma's own patented construction.

Produced circa 1918-1925 at the height of Cyma's reputation as one of Switzerland's most reliable mid-grade manufacturers, this example houses movement serial 225235 in a 47mm open-face case of nickel silver, its back covered in a crisp engine-turned geometric diamond pattern framed by milgrain and foliate engraving at the bezel, in the Art Deco style.

The white enamel dial is signed "Chronometre / Cyma" and carries elegant gilt italic Arabic numerals with a subsidiary seconds register at 6 o'clock. The outer chapter ring, printed in red, marks the 24-hour scale - an unusual and attractive feature that lends the dial real visual distinction. Gilt sword hands complete the picture.

The movement winds, sets, and runs well. The case decoration is well-preserved. The dial carries light age spotting consistent with over a century of life, adding honest patina without detracting from legibility. One small dent is present on the caseback.

A genuine high-grade Swiss Chronometre from the interwar period.
