One of one, exactly the piece shown

A true Goliath at 67mm - this unsigned Swiss pocket watch packs day, date, month, and moonphase complications into one commanding gunmetal case. Every single one of them works.

This Swiss Goliath - measuring 66.57mm across - carries four complications: a day-of-week register, a date display, a month indicator, and a moonphase with an engraved landscape disc showing a building against the sky. All four are fully functional. In a category where non-working complications are the rule rather than the exception, that matters.

The movement is a gilt bar/bridge calibre typical of the best Swiss export production from the Jura and Vallee de Joux region in the late 19th century, finished with wave-decorated bridges and blue steel screws. The French-language calendar - LUN, MAR, MER visible on the day register - confirms this piece was made for the Continental European market. It is set by a button-release mechanism on the crown, with corrector pushers positioned around the case band for advancing each calendar disc independently.

The gunmetal case has developed a deep, uneven patina over its century of life - darker in recesses, brighter at wear points. The brass bow and gilt bezel ring provide warm contrast against the dark oxidised steel. The silvered metal dial carries the honest toning of an un-restored original; the gilt floral engraving between the subdials is partially obscured by age but visible under a loupe. The mineral glass crystal is intact but hazy.

Serial number 37489 is stamped on both the outer and inner caseback - standard Swiss practice of the period, ensuring both halves could be matched if separated for service.

A substantial, complicated, fully working Victorian pocket watch in honest original condition.
