A solid Swiss silver open face pocket watch from the turn of the century - engine-turned guilloche caseback, 15-jewel lever movement, running well. Honest wear, honest price.

This unsigned Swiss open face pocket watch dates to the early twentieth century and carries all the hallmarks of dependable period quality. The movement is branded Ancre - marked "Levees Visibles Double Plateau - 15 Rubis - Precision" on the inner caseback dust cover, accompanied by exhibition award medals, a common Swiss supplier convention of the era used to signal quality-grade production. The escapement is a 15-jewel lever movement with visible jewelled pallet stones and double roller balance, winding correctly and running well, keeping decent time. Movement serial 695230, calibre 54577.

The 800 silver case is solid and presentable, carrying a fine engine-turned guilloche pattern on the caseback. The back features a central armorial cartouche that was never monogrammed - clean and anonymous. The white enamel dial shows Arabic numerals in an elegant period script with a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o'clock and gold-tone Breguet-style hands. A small chip sits between 11 and 12 on the dial - visible up close and honestly priced in. Crystal has minor surface wear consistent with age.

50mm case diameter. No box or papers. A handsome, running Swiss open face at a fair price.
