A square sliding-lid pocket watch case in pale wood, hand-painted with a four-leaf clover and cursive script. Made as a good-luck souvenir.
A square sliding-lid case in pale wood, likely olivewood or birchwood, made to hold a pocket watch. The lid is hand-painted with a four-leaf clover and a line of cursive script, in the manner of Victorian good-luck souvenirs sold at tourist destinations. The lid slides back to take the watch, and the original paint is intact.
The pocket watch shown in the photographs is for scale and is not included.
Materials
Pale wood, hand-painted. Paint: Original decoration intact, in good condition. Lid: Slides correctly. Overall: Very good antique condition; light wear consistent with age. Note: some joinery is a little loose, with slight separation at the seams.
