One of one, exactly the piece shown

An American Waltham movement, cased in England in a genuine Dennison gold-filled hunter, made specifically for the export market in 1903.

This is a Waltham Bond St. grade pocket watch, dated to 1903 from its movement serial number (12900388, Model 1897, size 14s). Bond St. was Waltham's grade made specifically for the British market, named after the London street where Waltham's UK sales office sat.

The case tells the same story. It's a genuine gold-filled full hunter made by the Dennison Watch Case Company, Waltham's principal English case supplier - the interior is stamped with Dennison's Star trademark (a 10-year gold-filled guarantee) alongside the American Waltham Watch Company name, plus a case serial (116342) and duty mark (7F). The front cover carries a blank cartouche shield, engine-turned, with no monogram, so it's ready for a new owner without any prior engraving to work around.

At 50mm across, this is a substantial, wearable size. The dial is white enamel with a red-and-black two-tone railway minute track and a sub-seconds register at 6 o'clock, signed A.W.W.Co. Waltham Mass. There's a small dial-edge dent between 11 and 12, mostly hidden under the case lip, but otherwise the enamel is clean.

Mechanically, the watch winds smoothly, sets correctly, and runs. It hasn't been sent for a professional service or timed for accuracy, so it's sold as a running example rather than a guaranteed-rate piece. Both hunter covers - front and back - open with a clean spring action and close securely, and the case back reveals the movement and a stamped dust cover underneath.

No box or papers accompany this piece. Acquired from a private collection.

A straightforward, honestly described Waltham export watch with a real, checkable story behind the case and the grade - not just a generic gold-filled hunter.
